Prescribed & Wildlands Fire Training
In cooperation with the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, the Shawnee RC&D is pleased to offer assistance with required fire training to qualify individuals for Burn Crew and Certified Prescribed Burn Manager designations in the state of Illinois.
40 Hours Basic Wildland Firefighter Requirements
Course: 40 Hours Basic Wildland Firefighter, Online Courses and Field Day
Online Courses: Complete the courses in the order listed below.
Minimum training required by Illinois Department of Natural Resources and the Southern Illinois Prescribed Burn Association for participation on an active burn
1) ICS-100, Intro. To Incident Command System (2006)
2) L-180, Human Factors in the Wildland Fire Service (Online) 2014
3) S-130, Firefighter Training (Blended) (2008).
4) S-190, Introduction to Wildland Fire Behavior (Online) 2008
Minimum training required by the Shawnee National Forest for participation on an active burn
1) ICS-100, Intro. To Incident Command System (2006)
2) L-180, Human Factors in the Wildland Fire Service (Online) 2014
3) S-110, Basic Wildland Fire Orientation (2014)
4) S-130, Firefighter Training (Blended) (2008).
5) S-190, Introduction to Wildland Fire Behavior (Online) 2008
